I was going to manage myself at home and see how it goes.  Then I saw an ad for WW to join (re-join in my case) and get a free Gregg Wallace cookery book.  

I felt I couldn't resist a free WW cookery book and just had to have it. I've since found out you can download it and wanted to share it with you, it takes seconds to load.  Click here for free GW cookbook

I know I was going to weigh every 2 weeks, now I've got no choice and have to get weighed every week.  So I'll see how this goes too. I can't cope with the disappointing results, so I better keep them positive!

Low-fat Diet Sheet

I take Statins to reduce cholesterol levels and I'm aware that when you cut out all high fat foods it brings your cholesterol levels down.

A website has been brought to my attention and I'd like to share it with you.  It's common sense stuff really, but anything that helps - right?!  It starts off by saying:

"A diet that is generally low in fat and healthy can help you to lose weight, or maintain your weight. It can also help to you to lower your cholesterol level."

First Weigh In

Cut To The Chase . . .


Lost: 3 1/4 lbs

If this was a 1st official weigh-in I'd be very disappointed, however, I started my diet on 1st December 2012.  I'm guessing I may have lost maybe 4 or 5 lbs in December.

I can feel from my clothes - that something is definitely happening!


I've been in such a state about getting weighed and wondering what the scales were going to say, I've changed my mind about 'not going to weigh myself every week'  as mentioned here.

So, the plan to date is, weigh-in the beginning of each month and the middle of each month, we'll see how it goes.

I've been having this love affair with half-fat crème fraîche, with anything really. I was brought up on desserts and feel that a meal isn't complete without one.  My favourite at the moment is baked apple or low fat yoghurt and of course crème fraîche.

What's your favourite dessert, that's not too fattening?

Jeepers Creepers It's Cold!

Don't ya just love this!
It's so cold in Essex, the warning is we're going to have thick, thick snow. I hate it, so worried I'm going to fall over and no one will be able to pick me up!

I've decided I'm not going to weigh myself every week.  

I get so disappointed and depressed, when the scales don't tell me what I want to know.  Even if I stay the same I get very upset and think I may as well have eaten what ever I wanted.  So I'm going to weigh-in monthly.  I'm nervous (already) that I haven't lost anything. It's weird:
  • Your main shop is spent down the fruit and veg section
  • The fridge is full of fresh products
  • You've got hardly any cardboard boxes in the re-cycle bin (from pre-packed stuff!
  • You change your entire eating habits
  • You stop eating rubbish between meals
  • You start to hallucinate ya trousers feel a bit looser around the waist!
Anyway, onwards and upwards, where's that from?

Day 1 Week 1

Walk - Shwalk!

I don't like exercise, never have even at school!  So the sun was shining this morning and the sky was a pretty blue, before I could change my mind, I got in the car (oh I know) drove to my local park and walked around the perimeter of the park.  Is there a law about not walking clockwise - everyone else and his dog, were walking anti-clockwise!

Have to say, felt really good.  Next time plan to do 2 laps.
